Hi, I'm Bonnie Rae, Firearms Instructor and Founder of Bonnie’s Bullets & Barrels.

What began as a personal curiosity quickly grew into a true passion. I was raised in a household that feared guns, not out of experience, but because we simply didn’t understand them. Ironically, we owned a full-size gun safe stocked with everything but firearms! 

It wasn’t until I went off to college and faced the world on my own that I realized just how important it was to learn how to protect myself. My eyes were opened to the critical role education and awareness play in staying safe in everyday life.

I still remember the first time I walked into a gun range, unsure, intimidated, and not knowing where to start. What stood out even more was the absence of women I could turn to for advice or support. That feeling of isolation inspired me to create Bonnie’s Bullets & Barrels, a welcoming, judgment-free environment where anyone, regardless of experience or skill level, can learn, build confidence, and feel empowered.

As women, we carry incredible strength, but we’re rarely taught how to harness it when it comes to personal safety and self-defense. My goal is to equip you with practical skills and the knowledge to become more aware, capable, and prepared in everyday life.

There’s nothing more fulfilling to me than watching my students progress and seeing how far they’ve come.
